I consider that extracurricular activities are necessary for students. Extracurricular activities are not part of course that a student is doing but a part of life that a student is enjoying. Such as jogging, painting, swimming, recording broadcast program, and playing chess, these are all good extracurricular activities. It may be doubted that extracurricular activities will lower the grades of students and waste too much money of school. But in my opinion, extracurricular activities are not only fun to students but also enhance the grades of students and the image of school.
Extracurricular activities can make a student a good body. According to health research, sitting in the desk all day is able to fatten one up. Fatness can make one easily get a lot of sick, such as heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. Extracurricular activities help students leave textbooks away and do something different from lessons. Whether we do outdoor activities or indoor activities, we can exercise many parts of the body. It is also a kind of keep fit. Take my past experience as an example; I studied textbooks all day in the classroom. The more time I sat inside the more cellulite I got. Subsequently, I gained lots of weight, and too much fatness press my nerves of legs- I had difficult to walk. It was really painful to me. After that, I coerced myself into participating drama club and designed lighting. As a lighting designer, I must go up and down stair to adjust lights in the correct places. After a certain period of time, it's surprised for me that I lose my weight and all my pain is gone. It proves that extracurricular activities are good for bodies.
Extracurricular activities also help us learn something which is not taught in textbooks. Textbooks teach students some knowledge which can be described in words, but extracurricular activities can teach students more important knowledge which cannot be printed in textbooks. For instance, when students become a member of extracurricular activities club, they have to handle every affair. Students can learn taking responsibilities from extracurricular activities. And also, there is a Chinese proverb says” To go many places is better than to read many books.” It means that to do a lot of activities can rich one’s experience. When time goes by, these experiences become one’s precious knowledge. Obviously, extracurricular activities can gain much wisdom for students.
Finally, I would like to say that extracurricular activities make students do better in their own works. Many parents worry about that children put much emphasis on extracurricular activities can result in bad grades. In fact, extracurricular activities let students do their work more efficiently. We Chinese always say” To take a break is in order to go far.” After a hard reading, students can relax themselves by joining extracurricular activities. They full of energy after doing extracurricular activities, so they come back to study with clear brain. Because of clear brain, students do well in their study.
Extracurricular activities focus on the ethical awareness, interpersonal skills, and citizen’s duties and are colorful and diversified. Students should participate in extracurricular activities to gain more fun, happiness and experiences. There is one more benefit about extracurricular activities; extracurricular activities may become a good persuasion for apply advanced studies or employment in the future. Therefore, good alumnus can boost the image of school. Due to above reasons, it is really important to join extracurricular activities.

Something beautiful-5
I consider that a pure mind is the most beautiful thing is the world. Some people hold the opinion that diamond is the most beautiful thing, while others believe that handsome guys (or pretty women) are beautiful. As for me, pure mind is only one thing can make everything more and more beautiful. With a pure mid, everything is beautiful in your eyes. With a pure mind, everyone regards that you are beautiful. With a pure mind, money is not the only beautiful thing in the world.
Everyone has a pure mind when he was a baby. We all know that all neonatal babies have pure mind. Their thoughts are very artless, ingenuous, and cherubic. They never do something bad or ugly to others. But when they grow up, some of them lose their pure mind. They don’t see things beautiful any more. They are greedy, mean, hotheaded, and so on. Why their pure mind is gone? They are too busy to appreciate beautiful things nearby and ignore the right things to do. They see fortune is only one important thing in their whole life. Finally, no pure in their mind, then they become more and more empty.
So it is important to protect our pure mind from losing. How to keep our pure mind? First, we should think back that when we are young children, what kind of things we consider these are good? For example, to help people everyday, to be economical and to be responsible are correct things we should do. If we do these continuously, we would never forget to concern about beautiful things. Second, in order to effect our environment to be beautiful, we should help people out of charity. After we put more emphases on alms, we can change the ruefulness into happiness. Last but not least, always remind ourselves not to hurt any others. Before we do something, we may ask ourselves”if others do that to me, would I get hurt?” Thus, we can avoid harming others. From what has been discussed above, we may always keep our pure mind.
Again, if we want our lives full of beauty, all we should do is keeping our pure mind. Pure mind can help us do things well, thinks carefully, and treat others truly. Without pure mind, nothing is beautiful at all. Without pure mind, we should beware of other people. So it is obvious for us to conclude that pure mind is the most beautiful thing in the world.
